Deshomes Fix and Removal Guidelines

Designer Homes is committed to providing quality-built homes for Cytonians as well as assisting Worldbuilders in ensuring that the worlds they build meet DH building standards. Recognizing that standards do change periodically, & that worlds may prove to be unpopular with buyers, DH is establishing the following policy guidelines to cover instances where worlds may be removed from sale or fixed to meet with current building standards.

PART A-GUIDELINES FOR REMOVAL
Home worlds which are dropped in DH may not be removed except within the following conditions:
1. The builder wishes to have the world removed because of serious building issues.
2. The builder wishes to have the world removed because it does not meet with current DH building guidelines.
3. DH Staff are agreed that the world either has serious building issues &/or does not meet with current DH building guidelines & the builder is no longer a member of CT. The Homes Manager must approve removes of this type.
4. The builder wishes to have the world removed because of extremely poor sales. Such worlds must be for sale at DH for a minimum of 1 year & have sold 10 or less copies..

PART B- GUIDELINES FOR FIXING
Builders are encouraged to fix or upgrade their world if:
1. The world has serious building issue(s).
2. The world does not meet with current DH building guidelines.

PROCEDURES FOR BUILDERS
If you wish to have a world removed, contact the DH Staff by Inbox at DH. Include in your message the name of the world, which category of above REMOVE conditions is applicable, & provide evidence where necessary by citing the specific nature of the problem(s). DH Staff will evaluate your request & notify you if they are in agreement that your world falls within the removal guidelines.

If you wish to revise your world in order to fix a problem or have it comply with current DH building guidelines, the prior permission of DH Staff is required. Submit your request using the DH Inbox. Include in your message the name of the world, the category of above FIX conditions applicable, & provide evidence supporting the need to fix by citing specific areas you would be working on. Your new WRL file will be subject to a new assessment based on current DH building guidelines to ensure that no future fixes are required. The method of replacing the existing world with the new version will be worked out, as appropriate, by DH Staff, Comtech, & the builder. Builders may not alter the price of the world from the original price.

NOTE : In rare instances (for example, if a builder is no longer a member of CT but wishes a world to be fixed), a builder may authorize DH Staff or another Cytonian with Worldbuilder status to undertake fixes on their behalf. Such fixes will be noted in the WorldInfo or in a Note included in the body of the coding (preferably the former), & the fixed world previewed & agreed to by the builder prior to its substitution onto the CT server. A builder may waive the right to preview the fixed world.

PROCEDURES FOR HOMEOWNERS
In the event that a world is fixed & you are in possession of the unrevised version at your house, in most instances the revision will automatically appear for you once your cache is clear of the old version because the new version will have been substituted in on the CT server for the old WRL (overwritten). It may also happen that a revised home appears on a new URL on the CT server & the old version is deleted from DH. In these cases homeowners may apply (in the DH Inbox) for a refund in order to buy the new version of the home. If you are applying for a refund, please do not replace or delete the old version until DH Staff have had an opportunity to verify that you have the old home.

PROCEDURES FOR DH STAFF
In the case of worlds which are removed from sale at DH, DH Staff will :
1. Announce the removal on the DH message board.
2. Keep a permanent record of the removal in the INFO area of DH - this record will include the name of the world, the builder's CT nick, the date & price of the original drop, & the date of removal.
3. In order to ensure that remove condition 4 (insufficient sales) is properly complied with, DH Staff will begin a practice of doing a weekly number count of all DH Homes. The results of the weekly checks will be published in a topic book - DH Home Sales - available for public viewing in the main DH atrium area (on the Objects list in 2d).

In the case of worlds which have been fixed, DH Staff will :
1. Announce fixes on the DH message board.
2. Keep a permanent record of fixed worlds in the INFO area of DH - this record will include the name of the world, the builder's CT nick, the nick of the DH Staff member or other authorized Cytonian who fixed the world if applicable, the date & price of the original drop, & the date the fixed copy was installed at DH.
